The undersigned renter is strongly encouraged to return the equipment. Equipment returned by someone other than the renter will not be considered complete until the renter signs and returns the final agreement. Failure to submit a signature within 5 business days may result in a $25 administrative fee.
If the equipment and accessories are not returned by the specified due date, a late fee of $10 per business day will be assessed, up to a maximum of five (5) business days. On the sixth business day, the renter will be charged the full replacement cost of the equipment and accessories, in addition to all accrued fees.
The renter is responsible for any damage to the equipment that may be identified at the initial return inspection or identified by the technicians after the return. The renter is responsible for all associated costs, including repair, labor, and replacement fees.
If a renter fails to pay their student account bill or any monies due and owing NMSU by the scheduled due date, NMSU will place a financial hold on the renter’s account, preventing the renter from registering for future classes, requesting official transcripts, or receiving a diploma. Failure to make acceptable payment arrangements to bring the account current may result in NMSU referring the delinquent account to a collection agency. If NMSU refers a student account balance to a third party for collection, whether an attorney or collection agency, the renter will be responsible for any costs (including but not limited to collection fees) associated with attempting to collect the monies due and owing.
Equipment will be held no longer than 3 business days after the time requested. Any payment received will be refunded.
No, all equipment must be returned in person to the Equipment Rental Program Office.
The Equipment Rental Program will no longer extend equipment past the term that the items are due. If a renter needs equipment past their current due date, they will need to come to the Equipment Rental Program Office to return their current item and check out a new one if available. Equipment availability is not guaranteed.
Note: The Equipment Rental Program has a limited supply of equipment that is meant to support all eligible students. It would not be fair to allow customers to continually renew their equipment. Additionally, the equipment is not meant to be permanent replacements for personal devices or departmental work devices.
The official form of communication between the Equipment Rental Program and the renter will be via email. The renter is repsonsible for checking the email address they have provided for all communications related to the rental.
