NMSU's Minimum Technology Requirements
Updated February 2025
For newly purchased computers - the recommended Windows 11 Minimum Standard:
| Processor | Intel Core i7 13th gen or higher OR AMD Ryzen 7 7000 or higher. |
| RAM | 32 GB DDR4/DDR5 or larger. |
| Storage | 512 GB NVME SSD storage or larger if data storage requirements dictate. |
| System Firmware | UEFI, Secure Boot Capable. |
| TPM | Trusted Platform Module (TPM) version 2.0. |
| Graphics Card | Compatible with DirectX 12 or later. |
| Display | High Definition (1080p) display that is greater than 9" diagonally. |
For existing computers - the recommended Windows 11 Minimum Standard:
| Processor | Intel Core i7 8th gen or higher OR AMD Ryzen 7 3000 or higher. |
| RAM | 16 GB DDR4/DDR5 or larger. |
| Storage | 512 GB NVME SSD storage or larger if data storage requirements dictate. |
| System Firmware | UEFI, Secure Boot Capable. |
| TPM | Trusted Platform Module (TPM) version 2.0. |
| Graphics Card | Compatible with DirectX 12 or later. |
| Display | High Definition (720p) display that is greater than 9" diagonally. |
For MacOS computers - the recommended Minimum Standard:
| Processor | Apple M4 chip. |
| RAM | 16 GB unified memory or larger. |
| Storage | 512 GB SSD storage or larger if data storage requirements dictate. |
